Course outline

This seminar will address the use of inappropriate external cladding materials which have been installed on a number of high-rise buildings that have been identified as a major contributing factor to substantial fires which have occurred in Australia, the United Kingdom, China and the Gulf region.

These fires have resulted in the overwhelming need for amendments to Volume One of the 2016 edition of the National Construction Code. This seminar will cover the background and provide an overview of this amendment. This seminar will also present the diverse means of facilitating the use of appropriate cladding materials. In this seminar, you’ll also get a sneak preview of a new unique online tool which will assist architects and designers shortlist suitable claddings in accordance with NCC section C. The seminar will also clarify the distinction between products affected by the amendment to Volume One and other cladding products.
