Course outline

James Jones takes you through the ins and outs of the documentation process and its relationships with contract administration and specification. He outlines common stumbling blocks, offers strategies and solutions for ‘writing your way out of trouble’ through the design, documentation and construction stages. The talk will be illustrated by a number of case studies in both his residential and commercial work. He will also discuss issues such as novation, quality assurance and working with government clients.

This course is based on James Jones's National Seminar Series 2011 presentation.

James Jones has practiced for over 20 years with wide experience across a diverse range of building types, scales and construction methods.

He is a former National Councillor and President of the Tasmanian Chapter and is Adjunct Professor at the University of Tasmania.

Recent experience with exemplary projects includes: Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, Centenary of Federation Place, Henry Jones Art Hotel, Aurora Energy Southern Operations Centre, Transend Primary Store, Bridgewater and Trial Bay House.
