Hermann Kaufmann: ZT GmbH, Austria
The son of a family of carpenters, Hermann Kaufmann founded his own architectural office in 1983 in Schwarzach.
Since 2002 he has been a professor of architecture, specialising in the design of timber and laminated wood constructions, at the Munich Technical University.
A central theme of Hermann’s work is searching for comprehensive answers to the role of modern wood design and construction in sustainable buildings.
Numerous commercial, residential, office and light industrial buildings demonstrate his application of design concepts to wooden structures suitable for both business and community purposes.
